Corner Brook Health Partnership to Host Job Fair and Information Session

Corner Brook Health Partnership, the team of companies selected to design, build, finance and maintain a new acute care hospital in Corner Brook, will host the first of two job fairs and information sessions related to the project on Tuesday, September 17 at the Corner Brook Civic Centre, beginning at 4:00 p.m.

A second job fair is planned for 2020.

Residents looking for future employment opportunities on the construction of the hospital will have the opportunity to meet with the contractors and subcontractors constructing the hospital. In addition, residents who just wish to learn more about the Corner Brook Health Partnership, the construction timelines and more details about the hospital are also invited to attend the information session.

Corner Brook Health Partnership will also be launching its job portal website for future employment opportunities during the 51-month construction period.

The seven-storey, 600,000 square foot facility is being built next to the 145-bed long-term care home near the intersection of Lewin Parkway and Wheelers Road. The 164-bed hospital will have the same services currently provided at Western Memorial Regional Hospital, as well as an expanded cancer care program including radiation services.

Over the course of construction, an estimated 4,000 person years of employment and $460 million in GDP is expected to be created.
