Collaborative Leadership

Building Jobsite Leaders

Effective leadership is essential to the successful operation of most jobsites. In today’s increasingly competitive and fast-paced construction environment, jobsite supervisors need to be equipped with the tools necessary to ensure they get the best effort from their team.

Watch the UBC video on what it means to be a Collaborative Leader.

The Collaborative Leadership Program hones in on providing jobsite leaders with the knowledge and expertise to foster a partnership culture – one that allows them to leverage everyone’s best efforts. Developing leaders with the character and competency to lead collaboratively as a team to solve problems together will ultimately lead to successful outcomes.

Testimonials

Here are some comments we’ve received about the Collaborative Leadership Program:

I attended the Collaborative Leadership program from May 6th to 8th in Las Vegas. First off, let me say that the training center itself is outstanding! It’s a very impressive facility with all the amenities of home, and more. Very helpful staff, excellent food, and comfortable lodging. In terms of the Collaborative Leadership program, it was an awesome learning experience. Taking the time to understand the different DiSC management profiles and learn about your personal management style was very interesting. In addition, the practical group activities were perfect for putting the skills taught in the classroom to use in realistic day-to-day work situations. All of the instructors were helpful and effective, and really took the time to ensure all points were conveyed clearly. Learning about the different generations and methods for communicating with each more effectively will be something I remember for my entire career. All in all, this training will truly benefit anyone in a management role. It will change the way you interact, manage, and develop others. Perhaps most importantly, though, it will help you better understand yourself, which will improve not only your work life, but your personal life as well.

I very much enjoyed the opportunity to visit the ITC and was very impressed.  I have done other leadership programs in my past workplace, including the Duke School of Business and Disney, and would rank the UBC program at the top of these.  The facilities were excellent and the staff provided plenty of real world experience to help drive home the points being made.  Again, thanks for the opportunity and I look forward to other opportunities to send more Pennecon folks to these programs.

Thanks again for the opportunity to attend the Collaborative Leadership Program at your training centre in Las Vegas.  This training was very helpful as it helped identify key strategies within our team and organization on how to empower everyone in helping us achieve our goals. I was impressed by the diversification of the speakers/teachers and their backgrounds. Everyone brought a key subject matter that impacted how we think as leaders within our organization. The approach was truly collaborative and we were able to action what we learned right away.  We appreciate the opportunity and highly recommend this program.
